Here at ShaneBertou.com last year we held a little friendly contest. Once the field of horses was announced for the Kentucky Derby readers were invited to pick a winner. The person who selected the correct horse received a copy of Matt Allison’s CD “The Same Old Struggles” in the mail.
I thought it might be fun to run this contest again this year. But this time we’re making the stakes even higher! If you pick the winner of the Kentucky Derby you will receive 1oo Grand! Seriously folks.. 100 Grand.
Anyone can enter, and it’s easy to play. Just leave a comment claiming your horse and cheer them on to victory in Saturday’s race.
Here is the field for the 133rd running of the Kentucky Derby:

I’m taking Any Given Saturday.
well, being the winner last year, i guess i’ll have to do it up again. and you know who i’m taking. HOW could a red sox fan like me NOT take DOMINICAN!!! big papi may you bestow your blessings of clutchness on this equine. HALLELUJAH!
The winning pomny will be doped to the gils (EPO, amphetamines, Salbutamol, Viagra, Bute) and have a double blood transfusion too.
Not counting the testsosterone, eGH, IGF and Stanozolol used to build the Derby horse.
It is possible that the race will be fixed too.
I’m picking hard spun ..That horse has the talent he will win
Cheryl cast her vote for Skat Daddy. Josiah picked Bwana Bull.
Alright, the race starts in 30 mins. so the books are closed. Kinda lame that only three people picked horses this year. I guess that’s what I get for waiting until Friday to start taking bets. Hopefully one of them comes in!
I was cor4ect. The race was FIXED.
No way to come from 19th to 1st in an honest race.
They field oped up the srinter’s (inside) lane and allowed Street’s Smarts to draft until the last 400 meters.
In an ‘unfixed race’ that pony would have been pitched out and boxed in, unable to sprint.
The Derby is a fraud! Barbaro was proof.
So wait, was the winning pony “doped to the gills” making him that much faster and stronger than the entire field, or was the entire field in on the “fix,” parting like the Red Sea and allowing Street Sense to blow through? You can’t have it both ways. Which were you right about?
