There is an update in the case of Sayed Pervez Kambaksh.
According to this report the pressure applied to the Afghan government appears to be having an affect. Not only has the Afghan senate backed off their endorsement of his death sentence, but government sources have reported that President Karzai “would like to see the verdict overruled by an appeal court, before it reaches his office [for pardon].”
So far, over 63,000 people have signed the Independent’s petition which calls for his pardon. This case isn’t over yet, so if you haven’t signed the petition please do so today!
