Long time fans of Over the Rhine will really enjoy the latest release from their Live From Nowhere series. The fourth installment was taken from their special 20th Anniversary concert which took place back in December and featured a reunion with original band members Ric Hordinski and Brian Kelley.
The 2-disc album includes 17 of the 21 songs that were played that night and the setlist included songs from each of the albums released during the band’s first decade together. The CD is scheduled to be released later this summer but you can pre-order it now from the band’s website. As an added bonus all pre-orders include an immediate digital download of the album.
My introduction to Over the Rhine didn’t come until after they had released Good Dog, Bad Dog. Since I missed the first decade, I’ve never fully appreciated some of these older tunes. But hearing some of them live for the first time has given me newfound appreciation. Here’s a taste …
