Five days ’til Dylan…

Today’s offering is one of my favorites from Dylan’s “Christian period.” It originally appeared on his Slow Train Coming album, the first of three featuring overtly Christian themes. During this period, many in Dylan’s fan base had written him off as a musician and entertainer. Some of that rejection comes through in the song’s lyrics, where a lonely Dylan affirms his faith through the midst of disappointment and sadness.

The lyrics may be a bit ambiguous – but this song would probably hold up pretty well in most worship sets today.
