U23D!

(ht: Mudpuppy)

Coming soon to a theater near you! (Except in my city of course. 😦 )

Regardless, I will see this film in all its IMAX 3D glory. Somehow. Some way. I get chills just watching the trailer. It opens January 23rd in select theaters.

I know my buddy John was part of the quality control team for the project and has already seen it. Maybe he’ll be so kind as to give us a little taste of his experience!

  1. It’s coming to the IMAX here… the trailer looks like it’s just a well edited concert video. Is that the case or is there more to it than that?

  2. shane,

I’ve been looking at the map for a good halfway point between Fort Wayne & Rochester.

Cleveland’s perfect, but it’s not showing in Cleveland.

    Thoughts?

  3. Thoughts?

Well, it’s playing in Cincy – which would give me a chance to see Matt J and his wife as well. However, there’s no way in heck I’m driving 8 hours to see something that will most likely come to my backyard eventually.

I can’t help but wonder if – with gas prices being what they are currently – it wouldn’t be cheaper for you to fly to Rochester than drive to Cleveland? 😆

  4. i dunno dude…having bono 10 feet in front of me spoiled me for life. though, i didn’t realize how small he is.

no, i’ll definately see it about 75 times 🙂

  5. no no, butrose, nothing could soil the bond we have! we’ve got more than a decade of history my friend, from shane’s disco in 1997 to me being in dublin and you being the first person i talked to after 9/11 to our current adventures in blogging. i mean hot damn, if your love of the huckster doesn’t do it, what could??? haha 🙂

  6. Ok,

If you seen the Atomic Bomb tour DVD, there’s a very similar setlist and performance. But there’s much more here than just a concert.

It truly is an experience hard to describe.

I have never seen U2 in concert (added to the list of things to do before I die), and I cannot believe that this would compare, but it certainly must be the next best thing.

The 3D element was brilliantly, subtlely employed, making the film a seamless experience.

I would have loved about 30 more minutes, but all in all, worth three times (at least) the price of admission.

    Highly highly recommended.
