Who will it be?

Alright Idol fans, tonight’s the night. The last performances by finalists David Archuleta and David Cook.

I’ve been saying since they got to Los Angeles that this was David Cook’s contest to lose. But can Archuleta’s teen devotees cast enough votes for him to pull off the upset?

  1. If David Archuletta wins tomorrow night I will never watch AI again! (Until next season…of course…)

Dude! Love your site! Short, sweet, and lots of fun reading! I’m adding you to my blog roll if it’s okay!

  2. Sure man, thanks.

This is the first season that I’ve ever gotten into the show. I wanted to see Brooke win, but it really had nothing to do with who I thought the better performer was. That’s been David Cook all along.

  3. Not sure if you caught my twitter earlier today, but David Cook will be singing U2’s I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For tonight. The first U2 song cleared for Idol competition.

  4. Bold. But he’ll probably nail it.

Which brings up something I’ve been meaning to blog about.

There’s a U2 cover band coming to town soon. On the one hand I have NO interest because I’m figuring you can’t possibly do it justice. But on the other hand, everyone is raving about how good they are, so I’m thinking it’s a cheap way to see U2 songs performed live.

  5. When David Cook covers a song, it sounds new to me. He’s the first Idol contestant to hold my attention.

  6. First things first.

No American Idol contestant has ever made me more keenly aware of the sheer awesomeness of songs I’ve long since forgotten than David Cook. Way to cover the anthems of my youth (and your prepubescence). Kudos!

But, all things considered (holy cliched phrasing Batman) David A. – aka Archie – (aka, aka “I’m too lazy to look up the proper spelling of your last name”) – you mopped the floor with DC tonight.

You won the contest. But I’m buying David Cook’s CD when it comes out. It’s infinitely less Josh Groban.

So there. I said it. React.
