Phish to headline Bonnaroo?

Every year I look at the Bonnaroo lineup and say to myself, “Dang, I should really go to this!”

Then I look in the mirror, remember the fact that I have a full-time job, a wife and two kids and say to myself, “Dang, I’m too old for that (stuff).”

Anyway, Rolling Stone is citing some “reliable sources” that Phish is slated to headline both nights of this year’s festival. How far is Tennessee from Rochester again?

  1. I don’t think the issue is “dang i’m too old for this stuff” it’s more along the lines of “dang i’m too responsible for this stuff” or “dang i’m too clean for this stuff” or “dang the video will probably be more enjoyable than this stuff”.

wait, maybe that translates to “dang i’m too old for this stuff!”

  2. I’m getting to the point in my life where being an irritable old codger prevents me from enjoying alot of the things I used to enjoy as a pup.

I think the tipping point was the last Dave Matthews show I went to, where the grossly intoxicated moron with the greek letters on his frayed baseball cap behind us threw up all over our seats.

The idea of spending a weekend camping out with 80,000 versions of that same dude just doesn’t appeal to me anymore for some reason.

  3. sure, and if it was me and you stuck in a car…then line….then tent…then port-o-pot line…then car together for 4 days…I can only imagine. We could avoid politics for only so long!

  4. Never again! After Oswego and having to disinfect the port-o-potty of the worst nastiness I’ve ever seen in order to pee . . . And to add to Jim’s list, nasty hippie old ladies with no shirts on. Yuck!

  5. remember that story you told me about trey doing a 20 minute solo during “tweezer” and you thought your head was going to explode?

and when you & john keane were playing phish bootlegs sophmore year above me and i yelled out the window to turn the hippy crap off and john dumped water on me?

    awesome.
