This spoken word performance by Jeff Bethke, a contributor to Chiselseason.com, has been getting a lot of attention. It has been viewed over 2.5 million times since it was posted two days ago.
There’s a saying in the church which states that faith in Jesus “isn’t religion, it’s a relationship.” I’ve heard it so many times over the years that it has started to sound shallow and cliche. This poem takes that basic premise and uses it to challenge the church, claiming that Jesus came to abolish religion.
It seems to be resonating with a lot of people.
